Blood Type and your Health

With the advancement of medical science and better understanding of human anatomy, we have garnered a better knowledge on how the blood type effect on the health and individuality of a person. Blood is an important component of the human body and is a primary element of the circulatory system and the cardio-vascular system. Blood is universally divided into 4 groups which are Group A, Group B, Group AB, and Group O. Extensive studies and statistical analysis conducted on a large number of patients around the globe have thrown light on the concept that like genes, your blood group effect your health and determine your physical fitness. Rephrasing the above statement in simple terms, it can be implied that a group of people belonging to a specific blood group may be more vulnerable to certain illnesses and like wise immune to other types of diseases.

The recent discovery of the gene ADAMTS7 have thrown considerable amount of light on the relation between blood group and health of an individual. ADAMTS7 is a gene that increases a person's potentiality to suffer from diseases associated with the heart. Patients with coronary heart ailments, cardio-vascular diseases, and those under the increased risk of heart attacks are tested positive with the ADAMTS7 gene. Apparently it is seen that individuals with the blood group O possessing the gene have comparatively low or no signs of heart and coronary aliments in comparison to the other 3 groups. This shows that individuals falling under the blood group O have no effect of the ADAMTS7 gene indicating a defensive factor of the blood type against the gene. The blood group O is a common form of blood type among human beings and studies have shown that people falling under the type have a reduced risk of several other types of diseases like malaria, cancer, ulcers, tuberculosis, infertility, etc. thus providing them with the natural ability to fight against diseases and live longer.

More research on the field have reviled that people especially men with the blood type A are more prone to gastric cancer whereas women belonging to the group A have better chances of conceiving and are seen to be more fertile. People with blood type AB have more chances of suffering from respiratory diseases, ear infections, parasites, and a majority of cancers. Pancreatic and ovarian cancers are seen among women possessing the AB group. There is good news for individuals with blood group B as it is seen that individuals under the group are commonly immune to heart ailments, cancers, tumors, and other types of contemporary diseases.

Blood type have other effects on individuals physicality, immunity and adaptability as well.
